American Spirit does not belong only to the ones who live in United States. Your culture, values and principles echo in the hearts of many around the world who believe in the inspiration which created such ideas. Inspiration means “in spirit” and “in spirit” means “in word”. Many words of hope have been said about the new president, Mr. Barack Obama, but I think they only reflect the hope we all have in Americans, their culture and love for their country, people and freedom. However, remember you are not alone in this challenging moment which affects your nation and the world. We can do more together.

Your values are not only yours:

If striving to be our best and pursuing happiness mean to be American, so we are all Americans.
If loving our family and doing all we can to protect our kids and beloveds mean to be American, so we are all Americans.
If being ashamed of mistakes and doing whatever it takes to correct them mean to be American, so we are all Americans.
If hating corruption inside our government and institutions and punishing the responsibles for such acts mean to be American, so we are all Americans.
If fighting for democracy and freedom means to be American, so we are all Americans.

We know the wave of changes you want is not the giant one that takes all, but the soft one that touches the shore and takes all the garbage left for few in the sand. Let´s clean all this mess together! One day at a time.

Above all, look to your past and what you have done and look to your future and all that can be done. And let´s do it together! Yes, we can!
